100 degrees and we’re going marketing

When summer hits, I don’t want to go anywhere, but in front of the air vent so I can soak up the air conditioning.

I am not a lover of summer, but there is not much I can do to get away from it.

Some areas of our country don’t have a true winter, but everyplace has a summer. I just can’t escape it. I figure that if I have an air conditioner with a thermostat that can be controlled by a remote, I am okay. I can stretch out on my recliner, turn on the football reruns, and veg until the temperature goes below eighty again. I know my wife isn’t very happy when she is cleaning and I am always in the way. She even turned the thermostat up to eighty, hoping I would go do something and maybe change the air filter in the AC unit. Instead, I called the HVAC company and told them there was a problem with the AC system. He just looked at me when he realized the thermostat was up to eighty. I told him it could have been a problem with the thermostat. While he was there, I had him put a new remote controlled thermostat in the house. I’ve got to tell you that my wife was furious. She asked me if this was how I was going to spend my entire retirement. I smiled and batted my lashes at her and told her no. This was how I planned on spending my summers, now that I am retired. I’m glad our HVAC technician is our son, because I’ve got a feeling it could have been a pretty hefty house call when it came to the air conditioner.
