I was chatting with someone the other day and they brought up a pretty good point I haven’t honestly thought about, but the point was that hardly anyone uses furnaces these days as a form of heating.
Furnaces are what almost everyone used before central heating plus air conditioning became the normal thing, but air conditioning in those days was usually fame from a huge window air conditioning component that sat in people’s kitchen windows, then but the heating was either a gas furnace or an electric furnace; It was much to our surprise that there were some people that still used furnaces, however most of the time those with older homes that were not built to have central heating plus air conditioning.
And the people that live in those kinds of homes that still have furnaces just don’t want to put the currency out to have the ductwork laid plus the house changed to a more state of the art heat and a/c system that cares about central heating plus air conditioning. But seriously, other than these one off situations, who honestly uses furnaces any longer for heating? My Grandparents when they were alive even converted their beach house to central heating and air conditioning once they could afford to do it. And this was in the early days of central heating plus cooling too! I have fond memories of growing up with a furnace for heating in the Winter. However it is actually something that I would not want to deal with this day in age. It was too much of a headache to maintain, then central heating is the only heat for me!
