I was having a conversation with someone the other afternoon plus they brought up a pretty good point I haven’t actually thought about; The point was that hardly anyone uses heating systems these afternoons as a form of heating.
Furnaces are what everyone used before central heating plus a/c became the normal thing, then air conditioning in those days was usually gave from a massive window a/c equipment that sat in people’s residing room windows, however the heating was either a gas heating system or an electric heating system, then it was much to my complete and total surprise that there were some people that still used heating systems. Most of the time those with older homes that were not built to have central heating plus a/c. And the people that live in those kinds of homes that still have heating systems just don’t want to put the cash out to have the air duct laid plus the house converted to a more current heat plus a/c program like central heating plus a/c. But seriously, other than these one off situations, who really uses heating systems anymore for heating? My Grandparents when they were alive even converted their home to central heating and a/c when they could afford to do it. And this was in the early afternoons of central heating and cooling too! I have fond memories of growing up with a heating system for heating in the winter. But it is genuinely something that I would not want to deal with this time in our life. It was too much headache to maintain, but central heating is the only heat for me!
