I was having a chat with someone the other day and they brought up a pretty good point I haven’t absolutely thought about, the point was that hardly anyone uses furnaces these days as a type of heating. Furnaces are what almost everyone used before central heating and air conditioner became the normal thing. Air conditioning in those days was usually provided from a large window air conditioner machine that sat in people’s living room windows, but the heating was either a gas furnace or an electric furnace, then it was much to my surprise that there were some people that still used furnaces, usually those with older homes that were not built to have central heating and air conditioner. The men and women that live in those kinds of homes that still have furnaces just don’t want to put the cash out to have the HVAC duct laid and the home had switched to a more modern heat and a/c system love central heating and air conditioner. But to be totally honest with you, other than these 1 off situations, who absolutely uses furnaces anymore for heating? My Grandparents when they were alive even converted their home to central heating and air conditioner whenever they could afford to do it. And this was in the early days of central heating and cooling too! I have fond memories of growing up with a furnace for heating in the winter. But it is sincerely something that I would not want to deal with this day in age. It was far too much headache to maintain, and central heating is the only heat for me!
