For a long time I was worried about the indoor air quality in my home. I knew that my ductwork was dirty, but I was hesitant to clean it. I knew I would be doing projects around the home fairly soon. So there is something called a UV-C duct light. What this means is that Ultraviolet lights are added to the air conditioning ductwork. The UVC lights work to eliminate odors, dust and dirt from the ductwork. It works almost as good as getting it cleaned on a yearly basis. For people who want fresh indoor air conditions, but do projects like myself, these lights are worth the investment. They actually aren’t much money and quite easy to install. Most people are hesitant to mess with ductwork since it is so fragile. There is no guarantee that the professional won’t poke a hole or make a tear along the seam. Adding UV-C is quite easy and minimally disturbs the ductwork. What you get as a result is worth the investment and the risk though. My house feels so much fresher and cleaner. I find myself sneezing, coughing and feeling sick less and less. Adding a little light really does make a huge difference to day to day living. A professional can do that installation job in an hour and for hardly any money.
